Hi all, i have followed the full process which is all over the net to unlock iphone 4, downloading cydia, downloading ultrasnow however my iphone 4 isnt unlocked, it says no service plus my screen says sim locked, but t seems everyone else as managed to unlock it using this.

Answer by Alex Cydia is a great program but I’m guessing your missing prior steps.
I’m NOT an expert on this, but I did do my iPhone 4 – go to http://Answernode.com and then select the iPhone 4 section. Once you’ve done that download the (free) open source software for Mac or Windows, whichever you use.
After that, the iOS4 section is near the bottom of the page so scroll right down or use CTRL + F to find it

Answer by S????R?SC³ Unlocking the iPhone (or any phone for that matter) will allow you to be able to use any GSM (if on a GSM network or CDMA if on that network) network rather than just one.
In the case of the iPhone, they come locked to AT&T. If you are on T-Mobile for example & want an iPhone but don’t want to switch to AT&T, either buying an unlocked iPhone or unlocking one yourself will allow you to use an iPhone on T-Mobile.
Also if you are going away & don’t want to pay roaming charges you could with an unlocked iPhone just use a pay as you go/pre-paid SIM from a local carrier instead & save money.
Locked phones don’t give you that flexibility

I have an iPhone and my cousin has the G1 and obviously the iPhone is way better but some of the apps for android are better so if I jailbreak my iPhone can I get the same apps?

Answer by Luke I personally disagree with the iPhone apps being better as you can do more with the Android apps, however I do not believe that you can install them on your iPhone.
